Dyan Gershman is a New York City-based attorney who has managed operations at her corporate law firm, Gershman Law, PLLC, since founding the practice in 2014. In addition to her work with US and international corporate clients, Dyan Gershman is an active member of the New York City Bar Association.

The City Bar Fund operates as the philanthropic arm of the New York City Bar Association. It is a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. The primary mission of the charity is to inspire and coordinate local lawyers so that they can provide legal services where they are needed most. Programming, which reaches over 30,000 citizens each year, is offered in five main categories of service.

First, the City Bar Fund strives to increase access to equitable criminal justice services for all New Yorkers, with a focus on historically underserved communities. These communities include unhoused individuals, immigrants, and families who have suffered the impact of domestic violence.

The City Bar Fund also works to improve and increase equitable justice services in neighboring communities. Members are encouraged to develop professional relationships with lawyers in other jurisdictions, states, and countries and discuss strategies for the continued support of civil society.

Diversity and inclusion are a major focus for members of the City Bar Fund. Members are expected to promote diversity and inclusion in all arenas, such as guiding law firms and businesses through the development and implementation of best practices.

The fund operates with an eye on the future. To this end, the City Bar Fund provides a number of services to New York City students interested in legal careers, including professional development programming. Finally, the organization maintains a depth of mental health and substance use counseling for members of the New York City legal community.
