The Office for Diversity and Inclusion provides career exposure and training opportunities to New York City students from underserved communities who want to become lawyers. The fund has established partnerships with law firms, corporations, government agencies, and public interest groups as well as over 150 regional high schools, colleges, and law schools. Every year, it engages with some 700 students, exposing them to legal practice.
At the high school level, the fund’s career programs introduce students to basic legal concepts and facilitates engagements with practicing attorneys. At the college and law school levels, students learn about more complex legal concepts, network with attorneys, and receive internships. Students who go through these programs develop stronger professional skills and broader networks within the legal profession, setting themselves up for career success.
